Cooking and Wine Tasting in the Piedmont Alps”

Short Break -3 nights 4 days

Cooking and Wine Tasting in the Spectacular Piedmont Alps

Description and Activities

We established an eco-sustainable tourism association (T.E.M.) so that we are able to offer you the opportunity to sample local cuisine and wines of Piedmont as well as helping make a positive impact in our valley.

This is your chance to experience the region of Piedmonts' Alps whilst sampling fresh local specialties, some of which we will make together, and others that we will prepare for you. We will pair local cuisine with local wines to insure you make the most of what is on offer here where the mountains meet the plains.

During your stay we will cook and dine together, getting our hands in the pasta together as well as sampling some of the famous regional wines, like Arneis, Barbera, Dolcetto. We may even sample a Barolo or have a few surprise wines from our area. The cuisine of Piedmont is richly varied, ranging from egg rich pasta, polenta,  and risotto, to numerous cheese varieties, rich desserts and highly regarded quality of beef.

The Italian approach to good food is one of quality over quantity and we are in complete agreement with this sensible approach.

Your stay at Bella Baita is up and away from town. We are a small, eco-friendly family run Bed and Breakfast inn, situated in the evergreen forests and porcini mushroom friendly chestnut woods. We have stunning vista of the French Italian border just across the valley from us.

The view from our organic garden is lovely, so you might want to stroll over and have a look at where some of your food is being grown.  Sometimes guests are interested in lending us a hand in attending to our attention seeking garden.

We are well situated for more challenging walks up to the peaks or down to the river for those that like more of a challenge than the neighborhood.

Other folks are just as happy relaxing in our charming outdoor patio. It's a great place to read a book or enjoy a beverage of your choice.

We strive to create an opportunity for you to experience our "off the beaten path" mountain way of life through all the experiences we will be providing.

It is our great pleasure to do so.

Cooking and Savoring the Exceptional Cuisine and Wine of the Piedmont Alps

Description and Activities

We want you to experience the Italian Alps through all of your senses. You can relax whilst we look after  the transportation and all the details, leaving you to take in the spectacular mountain views and fresh air. Stroll through our serene wooded neighborhood and organic garden whilst sampling some of what our Piedmont mountains have on offer.

During your stay, we'll visit a vibrant outdoor market finding what looks best in season to take along for our cooking class. We also will use as much fresh produce from our organic garden as possible. The historic town center is a must see before we have lunch and sample some local cuisine, before heading home for some free time to relax or take a stroll. Later we will teach you local dishes and dine together on the fruits of our labor.

Another day we will head up to the upper valley, visiting charming mountain villages while peeking into what mountain life was like many years ago. Lunch will be al fresco, weather permitting with fresh made cheese and other typical specialty dishes with local wine to wash it all down. If you like, we can even milk the goats while on our mountain farm visit.

We'll make sure to give you time to relax, but a visit to Piedmont would not be complete without sampling the famous local wines like Barbera and Dolcetto while visiting with the people who make these delicious wines.

We will make sure that you will have plenty of skills, recipes and memories, to take home that you'll be able to savory and impress your friends again and again.

For groups of 6 -8 we are able to customize this tour to accommodate your dates and various different interests, like hiking or biking, just to mention a couple of ideas,  if different than what we have described.
